How can I get the performance down from my CPU?

First, I wanted to mention that I own a relatively good laptop and it is not due to the hardware. I bought this laptop for gaming accordingly with a good graphics card. However, I can't even play my games with the lowest settings. So I looked up in the Task Manager how my CPU and GPU work during the game and I noticed that my CPU has too much use during the game. I read that the usage should start at the start of the game but then it should go down to 5% relatively quickly

How can I get the performance down from my CPU

unfortunately my laptop does not do that. That's why I have the question how I can fix it. I have no idea how that works and would be very grateful if someone could help me with the problem. I have made two more pictures of Task Manager while Fortnite is running in the background. The use of the CPU varies between 30-70% and higher.

It all depends on the game, if your CPU is not used to full capacity, but your GraKa is strong, or both will be supplied with work.

Forget the nonsense that should be the CPU after the game only 5%.

Even this value is different from processor to processor, as one is faster and the other slower, the faster in a game z. For example, if you have 20 & load, a slower player could have 50% load on the same game.

Now, if you slow down your processor's performance, your game starts to hang and the processor may then hang at 100% permanently because it can't perform the pending arithmetic tasks fast enough while throttled.

But why do my games hang so hard even though I have a good enough laptop? I paid a lot of money for the laptop and have not found a solution yet.

What has the ne equipment? And which game do you play?

Okay, in turn:

Next time please take correct screenshots where you can also read something. Wrong rotated mobile pictures on which one does not see half are not really helpful.

Then it would be important to know what hardware is installed in your laptop and what games you play.

That the CPU utilization should be at 5% is nonsense. There are very few games that require so little CPU power. For most of the more recent games, a load of around 30-70% would be normal.

A high utilization first does not provide for stuttering or the like. It only means that the computer does something. In that case, he has to do calculations for the game. Unless you have no energy-saving measures set in Windows and no framerate caps are active in the game, the computer will always try to exploit the capacity as much as possible. As a result, GPU and / or CPU will always be heavily used, sometimes up to 100%. Therefore, you should first check what is most heavily used. Software such as MSI Afterburner or its on-screen display (OSD) can help. Depending on what is busy, there may be different solutions.

You keep telling me about a strong and expensive laptop.

That's all pretty relative. What exactly is the built in:

CPU, GPU, Ram, SSD / HD, resolution?

I'm going from a Win10 (64bit).

You also already mentioned Fortnite. This is anything but hardware hungry.

Have you ever tried to reduce the presentation quality a bit. I do not play it myself, so I can't tell you more.

What else are you playing?

With the tool MSI-Afterburner you can display various key figures in the middle of the game as an overlay. Either as naked numbers, or even in a small diagram. The program can handle most Nvidia and AMD cards.

Otherwise, clean up your system.

Maybe it's just too much going on in the background. This unnecessarily burdens the CPU and the data transfer.

this is my laptop and most of the time I'm playing Rainbow Six wins, which makes no sense with the jerks

this is my laptop. Actually, I play Rainbow Six wins, which does not make sense with such jerks.

The hardware should actually be enough.

You should have a look what's going on there for programs in the background. On the finished PCs and laptops there's always a lot of additional software on it, which can eat tons of power. This one should try to finish. Except antivirus program of course. You can also see in the "Performance" list in Task Manager which program generates how much workload.

Well, I can work with that.

Nice laptop. I could basically like that too. I hope you have a German Quertz keyboard.

The CPU (i5-7300) is good usable, but the Graka (GTX 1050ti (4GB)) is only very limited FullHD-suitable.

In desktop systems, a GTX 1060 (6GB), or RX 570/780 (4 / 8GB) would be appropriate. The GTX 1050ti is slower, but much more power efficient. Especially in comparison with the AMD GPUs.

With a GTX 1050ti hardly 60FPS can be achieved with FullHD in games. You would have to reduce the degree of detail significantly. The more complex the game, the more.

So you should first reduce the resolution when playing elaborate 3D games. Then the "image enhancers" should be screwed down a bit. So the anti-aliasing, etc. And forget the "ultra" -quality in games.

You can finally put the presentation quality up piecemeal again. Until it looks good enough without jerking.

Under Win10, there's also an energy option that will get the most out of the system. Only it is often not immediately selectable.

Did you actually optimize your Windows for SSD operation? Thus the data access decreases and the SSD lives much longer.

Many manufacturers supply suitable software as well. For Samsung SSDs would be the "Magician", which can only work with their own SSDs.

Maybe you can already achieve something with my previous hints and suggestions.

If more questions arise… Always with it.
