Is it worth buying a replacement power supply to be on the safe side? I would like to buy a replacement power supply for my gaming laptop and one for my work computer. Is it worth the purchase or don't laptop power supplies break so quickly? Both laptops are new
Normally the power supplies survive, the devices that supply them with power. In other words, before the power supply breaks, the laptop is more likely to break.
And pay attention to the different voltages and powers, not every laptop runs with the same voltage and the same performance class.

So if, for example, you can never do without your work computer and want to achieve a certain level of reliability with a replacement power supply, I think the idea is not so wrong; however, other components are more likely to be affected by failure.
I also have two power supplies; one at home on the dock, a second for off-dock use or take away. I find that very practical.
Depending on what kind of laptop you have, you can also find used original power supplies in good condition on ebay.
