My question is whether I can leave a power adapter permanently on the power, so that I can simply plug and unplug my work laptop when necessary. From my own experience, I know that laptops should not be left on the power permanently, otherwise the battery will wear out, which is the case with my private laptop from HP. However, since I'm currently working more mobile from home because of Corona, the question for me is whether I can save myself from having to always plug in and unplug the power adapter, and then simply connect the laptop to the power adapter. Is that possible or is it bad for the power supply?

No, a simple power supply unit without a lot of bling bling does not need any electricity if it is plugged in without a consumer.

One of them has been permanently charging the battery for an hour. I get a new one every year, it also loads permanently. So far nothing has broken. I load those from previous years once every 2 weeks because I hardly need them.
