I have ordered a new laptop and since I plan to use it for programming, gaming and simple (F) HD video editing, I would like to upgrade the RAM from 8 GB to 16 GB.
The original RAM bar should be this one:

(Microns)
as a second I would actually like to use this one here:
https://www.crucial.de/deu/de/legion-y540/CT14866972
(Crucial, belongs to Micron)
Problem: The first is 2048x64 as a module configuration [but 1028x64 in the product name] in the second 1028x64 under technical details.
I thought that 2048x64 stands for two bars, that means that this is practically internally divided - is it perhaps a wrong or general statement? And how does it make a significant difference whether I install a 1028x64 instead of a 2048x64 as a second RAM bar?
Hey @Remueart, as far as I know there should not be any problems there, I even had a long time RAM latch from three different manufacturers of different sizes in my PC.
Also, I found this discussion on Tom's hardware, it is already a bit older but leads to the same thing.

Thanks, let's see.
