I've read that cleaning the fans with dust can create static energy that can break the motherboard. I have to clean my gaming laptop as I have already noticed FPS drops in some games where I had stable FPS. I tried opening my laptop to clean the fans, but it looks complicated and I don't want to break anything.
Can I safely clean the fans of my laptop with a vacuum cleaner or is there another way to clean them without opening the laptop? Are there any services that could open and clean the laptop?
So first of all: what kind of laptop do you have?
and on the other hand: i would always clean my fan with a can of compressed air or something similar. I don't know whether a vacuum cleaner works, but if so, then at the minimum level. Otherwise you end up breaking more than you fix it
It is not a problem if you clean the laptop with the vacuum cleaner. In general, you shouldn't set the vacuum cleaner too hard and the fans shouldn't turn.

Compressed air does not remove dust, i. H. Dust goes to another place in the PC
Compressed air only works when you open the notebook and blow the dust out of the cooler in the direction of the blowout
Doesn't do much because the propeller is mostly dusty and you have to touch it if you want to make a difference…
Holding the vacuum cleaner at the side fan outlet only from the outside brings almost nothing…
See which model you have and look on YouTube for a tutorial on how to remove the lower cover…
In the end, you don't need to do anything else, just remove the cover, it is sometimes a bit stubborn, but with a little patience and caution it works…
When the cover is down, you can already see the fan, then you can loosely wipe the solid dust with a soft brush, clear the gaps again and THEN carefully vacuum the dust with a cleaner (preferably with low suction power) …
And that only works if you no longer have a guarantee ^^
Thank you, my laptop has this model which is shown in this video: This video explains how I can clean the fans. I could also unscrew the lower part but after 3:00 am I would not get any further. I could also unscrew the fan but it all looks very fragile in the video and I'm not sure if I can fix it again after screwing it on.
My laptop is new and still has a warranty, I don't want the warranty to expire either.
Use a brush to loosen the dust and hold the fan wheel while vacuuming so that it does not rotate.
How old is the laptop exactly?
You don't have to remove the whole fan as with Min 3, so you can clean much more thoroughly, but it is enough if you brush off the propellers with a brush and loosen the dust in the spaces so that you can then carefully vacuum it…
So just remove the cover and then brush a little and vacuum… But hold the fan while vacuuming, not that the scrap rotates through the vacuum cleaner.
It took me almost 5 years until my laptop lost performance because there was too much dust in it…
But if yours is still quite new, that's funny…
What kind of temperatures do you have while gaming?
Mine is half a year old, at first I had GPU temperatures up to a maximum of 78 degrees, now it is up to 86 degrees. Even at 86, all games run smoothly except for AC Origins, where the frames go down from 50-65 to 25-30. But I've heard that AC Origins is said to be badly optimized and I'm not sure whether the increase in temperatures leads to these FPS drops or the poor optimization of AC origins.
My GPU: RTX 2070 Max Q
CPU: Intel (R) Core (TM) i5-10300H CPU
