I'm just really aggro again because my internet is just catastrophic while gaming.
My room is in the converted basement and the router in the living room (ground floor) is one floor above me.
The internet runs quite well in my room on my cell phone, tablet or laptop, but when I play (PS4) I have bad connection problems every other day and it is unplayable (~ 300-400 ping).
Can someone give me tips and suggestions on how to solve this problem or at least increase the connection significantly.
It's really frustrating when you want to play with friends a few times a week and the connection makes it impossible.
The speed has nothing to do with the ping. You can also have a very good ping with a 6mbit wooden line, so the problem lies elsewhere.
I would generally recommend DSL instead of cable, as it has its own connection. With cables there's always an entire street, so you share the matter with everyone.
Alternatively, simply use times when not so many are on the road.
Yes, that's right, but I only gamble on the weekend and now 2 p.m. Is a much better time than 2 a.m. Is probably not possible
An idea:
Restart the WLAN router so that it re-establishes the connection, then it may also receive new / different public IP and DNS servers from the Internet provider.
Sometimes the DNS servers of the providers are overused, i.e. Heavily loaded.
You can also set (different, better, faster) DNS servers manually in the IP configuration. Maybe try the Google DNS servers 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4.
Here it is explained for the PS4:

You have to try whether it is better then. I don't have a PS4 myself.
