Gaming mouse always slips to the left in Minecraft multiplayer?

I have a Mad Catz RAT 9 wireless gaming mouse that I've been playing Minecraft Multiplayer with for 4 years. I play on my rather poor laptop in case that has anything to do with the problem.

Since yesterday I have had the problem that the mouse sensitivity is suddenly extremely high at regular intervals, causing the crosshairs to slip or my player to turn.

you probably have. Any idea what the problem might be?

Broken mouse? Current driver installed? Have you tried a different mouse? If so and it works, something is wrong with your current mouse.
