Uni: Does it make sense to use a TV screen as a dual screen?

Will start studying mechatronics in the winter semester. I only have a laptop and no second screen at the moment, since I moved out and left my clever desktop PC at home, because I think that gaming is less good for procrastinating. But one screen is not enough, so I would be interested to know if you have experience using a TV as a PC screen. By television, I mean televisions larger than 27 inches, because the differences are more about size, since I would put both on my desk. Since I don't gamble, I would of course put the larger screen further away from me than a normal monitor, and also mainly for Uni and YT etc. Use. What makes more sense? Above all, because I would only buy something used.

A 27 inch TV is not designed to stand on your desk a short distance away, "farther away" or not.

I would take a reasonable PC screen, then you can split the screen too.
