IPad pro 12'7 for Uni in addition to mac?

I have been studying for a few semesters and got a mac book at the beginning of my studies. I don't want to miss it as such, but I mainly use it for homework. I prefer to write in lectures by hand, so far I've always printed out scripts and written them down. I also have to read a lot, and that makes little sense on the mac book if you want to make markings and marginal notes. This semester alone I filled 2 thick folders with all the texts and scripts that I have always printed so far.

I'm considering whether it would not make sense to buy an iPad pro to work through texts and add lecture notes. Mainly to save paper and ink. Can you recommend the iPad for the purpose? All the answers to the topic so far said only a real computer or laptop would be better but I already have that.

I was once so free and copied my own answer because it practically fits here again:

Definitely and straightforward the iPad!

Firstly, because there are now more than enough keyboards for all possible iPad variants and the new iPadOS also supports a mouse.

Second, with Apple Pencil you can easily create notes, make sketches, write them down in PDFs, etc.

The biggest advantage are the apps! Especially for the university / school area. A little insight:

MyScript Calculator: Note math problems by hand and have them solved directly. Automatically recognizes all formulas, point before line, etc.

GoodNotes5: The transcript tool at all! Create folder structures for subjects / courses, create a separate notebook for each topic and easily write it digitally. Does the teacher / professor hand out a worksheet? No problem! Simply scan it into your GoodNotes notebook with your iPad and edit it digitally. There are templates for mapped and lined paper and many design options.

MeisterTask: Bring absolute order to your subjects / course structure, meet deadlines, never forget to take exams again! Daily tasks at a glance, create weekly plans and if colleagues also use the app, you can work together on tasks within the app.

Free Office: With Apple's Office package Pages, Numbers, Keynote you can easily do all common office tasks and of course open and edit Windows Office files. Everything without an Office 365 subscription.

In addition, of course, there are the extras that an iPad offers in normal entertainment. We're talking about apps like YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, Spotify etc. You can pull on Adobe Lightroom and edit your Insta photos etc. (if there's a need).

The iPad is lighter than any common laptop / convertible and is much more compact in terms of pack size! In addition, the battery lasts a whole day very well, even with intensive use!

Disadvantage: price?

You can no longer accept that. Of course, the largest version of an iPad Pro with a keyboard and mouse costs around 1800 euro. However, it does one of the cheaper models for school / university. So you are with a Logitech BT keyboard, a mouse and a pencil at around 750 euro. You don't pay less for a convertible.

As I said, a clear recommendation for the iPad!

* Info: I'm not an "Apple fan boy", previously I also used a Lenovo notebook, MS Surface with pencil and Samsung Galaxy Tab! The Apple iPad is simply the best solution for professional users in the tablet sector! I even sold my iMac "27 Late 2016 to simply downsize. So the recommendation comes from the daily user experience
