Voice A: Dual channel only possible if you buy them in a pack, everything else explodes!
Voice B: Same Mhz, Voltage, Capacity, SO DIMM and good
Voice C: timing, manufacturer, DDR version, capacity, voltage must be identical
Voice D: Buy an identical one
Voice E: Open the motherboard manual
Voice F: Does not work, the manufacturer must have pre-installed.
* Very difficult, because for my model (ikbm15 NO manual, only for ikbn & co. But only with 1050 / 1050Ti instead of my 1060 Max Q are equipped) and laptop manufacturers love it for different regions to install different hardware ( eg Boradcom WLAN in some, Intel WLAN in others, Synaptics Touchpad vs Elan Touchpad etc. So it would not be a miracle if also here something else would be.
Google & Lenovo forums only provide information about the N version instead of M (my).
** So, e.g. 4 + 8 GB = 4 + 4 dual channel or 2600Mhz + 2400Mhz = 2400Mhz dual channel (Or 4800Mhz?)
Buy and send two equal RAM bars.
Mandatory latencies and speed need not be, because then always latency and speed of the slowest RAM is taken, however, it is advantageous if you take just two identical bars.
Not so complicated.
Safe Variant A: if one of 2 slots is still free, then buy a 2nd identical RAM bar.
Safe variant B: if you want to recreate both slots buy a RAM kit. Pay attention to good timings, MHz & volts.
Still safe variant C: go to the pharmacy (Mediamarkt or Saturn) and tell them you want to expand the RAM.
Best variant: learn what your chip max. Compensate and equip it as needed.
Tools: The tool CPU-z gives you information about your currently installed RAM.
So I find your notebook on the homepage of Lenovo. Also your M variant
There you will definitely get a description of how to change the RAM.
Really somehow the mentioned Voices all did not really have the view…
Thanks for the clarity!
So
TOP-Speed = 2 Identical
Compatibility = add another arbitrary SO DIMM DDR4
If an identical 8gb of RAM does not cost twice as much as a good alternative.
Fully agree with that!
In my opinion, circulating in the Internet forums
75% semi-knowledge of laymen * or people who are stained with myths
1% all-rounder experts like WillEsWissen64, face shield, Erzesel
4% superexpert but only with fragments of this honesty
20% Totallaiein.
Thank you for the effort, only "standard memory • DDR4-2400 MHz, SODIMM × 2 (max 32 GB)" was no voltage, no timing.
So rather CPU-Z.
Yes, that was in it, just spread the 2 levers - sounds easy…
Yes, it is easy. Have fun.
