Transferring Steam Account to a new PC?

I have had a family Steam account with my brother for a while. He has his games and I mean. The problem was that I couldn't play when my brother was playing. I got my own laptop for Christmas. Now I'm wondering whether I can transfer my Steam account to the new laptop without the family Steam account being transferred as well. I want to be able to play on my Steam account at any time. Can someone help me?

You can cancel the family account at any time, as far as I know. But you also lose access to your brother's games. Unfortunately I do not know exactly whether this family account will be taken over directly, but I assume it will. But as I said, you can simply deactivate this function again.
