Windows installation process aborted Laptop does nothing more, what to do?

I was just about to install it on a laptop with Windows 8 with a USB stick on Windows 10.

Everything went well, I booted from the stick, I started the installation, but unfortunately the installation aborted on the screen "Preparations in progress" then the error message came up that Windows could not be installed and I should try again…

Now nothing happens anymore, neither can I go to the bios nor is anything running on the screen - it stays black. Only the light on the switch lights up.

Usually it always worked on other laptops and PCs

I think there's just no operating system on the laptop right now.

does anyone know what might be going on and what I can do now?

I'm grateful for all of the answers.

The graphics driver may have been deleted / damaged. Try connecting the laptop to a monitor / television via HDMI.

mi

Did you turn it on and on, if no then yes!

Sa

Clear! That's the classic, but unfortunately it didn't work

mi

Well then bad luck

Ma

Have you tried to get into the BIOS / UEFI?

Ch

Start the laptop with F18 (F12?) To get into the boot menu, then check again whether the boot sequence is correct (1.usb)

Then plug in the USB stick and reboot. Then the instsllstionsprozess should start from the beginning., ubd leave the power cable connected for safety's sake.

Sa

Yes, I also wrote in my question. If I get into the boot menu that's no problem then I can reinstall Windows, but unfortunately it doesn't work.

Sa

Yeah, easy to say but thank you anyway for your answer!

Ma

Ah, sorry, skipped. Hm, with a desktop I would look to reset the BIOS / UEFI to its original state, which normally works without turning on the PC. Unfortunately, this option is usually not available on laptops, mainly for reasons of data protection.

It may well be that it shot you through the BIOS / UEFI.

Sa

Now at least what is happening again is what I'm in the screen on which it shows me that Windows could not be installed because of an error.

el

Then you have to start the installation again. If it fails again, I would first try to install another operating system so that the graphics driver works again.

Sa

I'm in the BIOS right now, I'm trying to start the installation again

Sa

In any case, I'll try again now.

Ch

My pleasure.

give feedback if it worked.

Sa

It works out! I turned my laptop off and on until the repair started. I restarted the installation and now I'm setting up Windows.

Sa

Everything works again!

Sa

It all works Windows 10 is on it

Ch

That pleases me.
