Opinions on the topic are divided on all websites and most of the time the discussions are a few years old, so here is my scenario:
I have a 21.5 "iMac from 2011 and a fairly new HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop with Windows 10. Can I transfer the Windows screen to the iMac so that my picture is a bit bigger? If so, how?
If the connection to the laptop fits, it should work.
Unfortunately, this is too imprecise for me. Which connection?
Does the Mac even have a connection 🤣
If the HDMI connection is meant, probably no, because in both cases it is only an output. The best option I see is to install parsec on both devices.
Do you have hdmi on the laptop and the IMac? Then take an Hdmi cable and connect the laptop to the Imac.
Unfortunately, in my opinion, it's not that easy.
"No, that doesn't work" I would have just written, but it will probably work, look here:
Crazy, I also have a few old iMacs from back then standing around somewhere and DisplayPort to MiniDisplayPort adapter too, so I'll be doing tests on them in the near future.
So get a decent DisplayPort to MiniDisplayPort adapter for your gaming laptop if it has a DisplayPort output. You could also try a high quality HDMI to Mini DisplayPort converter.
The question is whether I even have such connections.
