What kind of ribbon cable is this?
When I opened my laptop, I accidentally tore out a ribbon cable. The plug got stuck and broke when I tried to pull it out. A card reader was connected at one end and I believe the mouse pad at the other because it has not worked since I damaged the cable. USB is on one side and MB on the other. I guess I need a new cable now. The laptop is an HP TPN-C130
Is a simple ribbon cable. You won't find it on the free market. But the way it looks in the pictures, it is not broken. Only the tensioner on the slot is gone. This is tilted by 90 degrees when the cable is inserted and presses the cable onto the base. If you can solder, then you can replace this socket because it is only the USB board, I would simply remove it, enter the number on ebay and replace the board for a few euro. There's nothing expensive on it so the amount should be very manageable…
