My gaming laptop from HP (Omen) has 3 USB ports. The 2 ports on the right side of the laptop work perfectly. The only one that doesn't work is the third one on the left (next to the HDMI connector). It only responds to an external USB keyboard, but then only pops up a window that says that the device is not recognized. It doesn't respond to my mouse or any other controller. I've done a bit of research, but mostly you can only find something about problems that affect all USB ports. I hope you can get this connection working again, since I haven't even had this laptop for 3 years. Maybe someone knows a solution.
Remove your gaming laptop and see what the problem would be inside.
With gaming laptops from (MSI, for example) you have to unscrew a few screws on the bottom side and pull them out.

I tried it a year ago because I wanted to dedust the inside of my laptop, but God forbid I couldn't do it. The covering is so heavy that I was extremely afraid to break something.
Hmm, it's a good thing with MSI gaming laptops. But with HP devices, I don't quite know.
