I'm looking for a new notebook / convertible:
It must support pen input, an IPS panel, over 5h battery life in office use, brute performance (16-32 GB RAM; i7 of the 9th or 10th Gen. Or comparable AMD; at least 1 TB SSD), and Thunderbolt 3 to have.
I will use the notebook every day for taking notes at school and for creating complex 3D animations. At home, I will connect it to an E-GPU to render very large video projects / animations. Every now and then I'll play a game.
The price limit is 3500 euro.
So far I have only noticed the x360 and Elitebook series from HP, as well as the Surface Books from Microsoft. But I haven't really dealt with the topic too much and wanted to ask around here first.
If there was still the x1 yoga 5th gen from Lenovo.
Should meet your requirements.
That leaves only Surfacebook or Pro 7, if you have an eGPU at home, probably the Pro.
Thunderbolt is from Intel, you won't have any luck with AMD. Also no notebook with pen input and Renoir chip. It's actually sad, these are currently the most powerful and efficient processors (4800U for Ultrabooks and 4900HS up to 45W).
I can recommend the HP Envy x360. The version with 15 "IPS, i7, 16 GB RAM, 1TB SSD, costs (considering your budget)" only "1,200 euro and looks great too. Convertible or tablet mode (including pen input) works perfectly. Battery life is around 8-10 hours for me (mixture of surfing the Internet, Webex meetings and Office)
If you want even more performance, you can take a look at the Specter series or the Elitebooks
Otherwise I would find the Asus Zenbook Pro Duo really interesting. Has e.g. Nen i9, two 4K OLED displays, 32 GB RAM and ne RTX 2060. Costs 2,900 euro
