I have a microphone that used to work. I wanted to use it again but my laptop just doesn't recognize the microphone. I only have one socket on the laptop for headphones AND microphone together. When I connect my microphone I don't hear any more sound so I think that my microphone is recognized as headphones. The connection from my microphone is NOT 4-pin. Is that maybe the problem? I have already tried a lot such as setting it in the system control etc. But it does not help because my microphone is not recognized at all. (I have an HP notebook)
See if the microphone is active in the settings and test it out. There's also Windows troubleshooting, if that doesn't work, just try it out a little.
If it doesn't work, just get in touch and I'll try to help you.
Try to disable the audio driver and enable it again. If that doesn't work, reinstall the driver. Before you do all of this, go to the Windows 10 settings and see what is set as the output device. If possible, set the output device so that sound comes back. Otherwise just reinstall the driver.
Hope could help
Thank you for your kind answer. My microphone is not recognized in the first place so I can't activate or deactivate it either: /. I have no way of setting anything regarding the microphone because it is not displayed.
Thanks for your answer, but I can't update the driver, etc. Because my microphone is not even recognized so it is displayed: /
So that I understand correctly. You don't have a driver for microphone input and audio output?
So no drivers for sound?
Have you already tried another device? Which microphone is it, maybe still a guarantee?
Yes, of course, but when I go into the device manager and click on "audio inputs and outputs", the various microphones are displayed (in this case the microphone that is already built into my laptop) but the microphone that I connect to Connect the socket is not displayed there and therefore I do not have the option of reinstalling it.
No, unfortunately I no longer have a guarantee. But the microphone still works (it's the LUCENT desktop microphone), it is just not recognized by my laptop because I unfortunately have a socket for headset and microphone together. I hope to understand what I mean. I've really tried everything, but it just won't be recognized: /
You probably need that
Thank you… 'will it really not work without it? I think it's a shame because it worked strangely recently. But thank you in any case has helped me!
Oh, the microphone already worked on your notebook?
Yeah, that's the funny thing about it
Try reinstalling the Realtek HD audio driver, at least helped me.
