The following problem: With my HP notebook (Pavilion x360) the keyboard backlight goes out after a few seconds when the keyboard is not used.
The meaning behind it is not quite clear to me, because in the dark you just accidentally hit a key so that it comes on again, which leads to unwanted inputs.

Is there a way to activate it permanently?

I checked both in the Windows settings, to no avail. I also searched the bios, also no function for permanent activation.

I thank you in advance.

The sense that the keyboard lighting is switched off to save energy.

The keyboard lighting is controlled separately by a program under Windows, this should be mentioned in the manual.

For my laptop, the program is called LED Keyboard Setting and can be called up via apps and or key combinations.

Look in the manual, yours should also be available online, because there are several models with the designation HP Pavilion x360 I can't help you.

You may be lucky and the keyboard backlighting program is the same as mine.
