Laptop discharges in spite of mains operation and does not work anymore, what can I do?

I have an HP Pavilon 15 cx0204ng, which until recently worked fine. For 3 weeks my laptop has been discharging despite mains operation and goes out every time. At first I thought that it was the power supply, but then I used another power supply that showed the same signs. Next I thought about my battery, but it quickly became clear to me that the battery wasn't the reason either, as my laptop no longer charges at all. A lamp neither lights nor does it come on. It ran out at 0% and has not been charging since, although it was still charged at 1%. I had it in a computer store by now, but the staff couldn't help me directly. They opened the laptop and probably looked at everything roughly and then told me the mainboard was broken. Personally, it didn't come across as very professional.

Put in a new battery. Sounds like a dead battery. The other Mngs just want to sell you a new computer. On the part, serial number in Google, buy it, install it. If that wasn't it, resign.

Even if I remove the battery, it no longer charges, so I rule out a defective battery. I ordered a battery, but it is still not there.

Ja

Probably the battery or power supply is defective

Mi

Try to start without a battery. Remove the battery, connect the power supply and switch on. Laptops should actually work without a battery, at least mine.

Then it will probably be the battery. They break after a while.

Mc

How is it supposed to charge without a battery?

Mc

Sounds like the battery or the charging electronics
If you are lucky, the charging electronics are in the battery

Le

I mean that it does not apply when the battery is outside and the charger is connected.

Le

Unfortunately neither of the two because I have already changed the power supply and then it would still have to start without a battery

Le

Okay, can it be because it no longer recognizes my power supply or it no longer lights up?

Le

Unfortunately that doesn't work either

ge

That's a problem, maybe the charger is in the good old bin.

Mc

Yes, it could be, for example, that the connection no longer has electrical contact

Mc

With some laptops it is normal that they will not work without a battery

ge

He should dump a little bit of water into the circuit board using the keyboard. To get the electricity going again.

Le

Okay but when it was still halfway charged I tried it without a battery, but it lasted 2 minutes, if at all

Le

Are you serious now? 🤔

ge

Yes of course for the management.
