Laptop mains operation possible with a deeply discharged battery?

The battery in my Lenovo T 60 notebook is over after 13 years. It hasn't charged for a few days and discharges up to 5% every day. Since I only run the notebook in mains mode and never on battery and also can't get the battery out of the device, I would like to save myself having to replace or remove the battery.

Can I keep the battery in with a 90 watt power supply unit, even if it is soon completely discharged (at 0%) and would the notebook still function / boot up normally? Or does the device go into sleep mode or switch itself off completely when the battery is critically low when the battery is below 5-10%? I hope when the power supply is on, it is completely powered over. Sorry for the simple question. I'm a layman.

Nothing that I know of as a problem in that direction. I have been using my laptop only on the network for several years (ok, that's a gamer because the batteries are usually broken soon anyway).

So just leave it online and work hard.
