Connect external graphics card to laptop?

Can I connect my RTX 2080 to my HP Pavilion super? So using a PCI-E 16x adapter as an additional graphics card, because the integrated GeForce 840M is too slow for me? As far as I know, my laptop doesn't have a Thunderbolt port… Is there a Thunderbolt on USB or something?

You can't do that without Thunderboldt. At most for mining, because latencies are not that important.
