It's about an Elitebook 8760w from hp that gets really hot. Once caps lock and num lock even flashed (one flash = cpu error). In the past, the laptop didn't do that. I've already cleaned the fan, but the problem persists… Can't explain it to me. Please do not use Windows tips, use Linux.
If you have been using this book for a few years, and regularly in dusty environments (upholstery, beds, etc.), then a kind of felt will probably have formed in front of the cooling fins behind the fan, which now massively obstructs the air flow.
Just cleaning the fan blades is not enough. The matted dirt usually sits deeper there.
At the latest when the fan of your book rustles loudly under load at a high level, but hardly noticeable hot air - waste flow comes out, there's simply a lot of dust under the caps.
And no, where there's no explicit advertising with "Hepa filters", there's also no "filter felt" between the fan and heat sink fins. (not even in a notebook)
The "felt" on cooling fins is simply dirt that has to be removed. 😉
