Hi. Is it bad if I leave my laptop on permanently? A laptop has a certain number of charging cycles & I don't want it to be reached that quickly. Or does the battery suffer more from constant charging?
Batteries are not left permanently connected to the electricity. Otherwise take it out and leave the laptop on the cord
The trick worked 10 years ago. Today you can no longer take the batteries out.
In this way, the battery would be permanently charged when fully charged and would thus be broken. If you don't need the battery, take it out; but use it again and again.
A battery is like an athlete: it only maintains its stamina if it moves regularly. If he stops moving, the muscles break down over time. This dismantling happens faster in the "always charged" state than when it is not needed. Fully charge once a month, let it run empty, recharge and put it back in the closet… Should be conducive to a relatively long life!
Is not good for the lifespan. Your electricity supplier is happy in any case and advises to keep it up
Is always connected to the docking station. It has never been a problem, the battery does not charge all the time. If you can take it out do it
What if you can't take the battery out? I don't know if I can take out the battery from my laptop: - /
you would just pull it out at the back?
just looked in the description:
Type of power supply: rechargeable battery (permanently installed)
External power supply Charging method Charger Power 135 W
Just looked at mine in the description:
Type of power supply: rechargeable battery (permanently installed)
External power supply Charging method Charger Power 135 W
can I then leave it on almost permanently?
That says nothing. Good notebooks have technology (and software) built in, with which the notebook can be continuously connected to electricity. For example MacBooks. A permanently installed battery is no guarantee of this.
How do I know if I can leave my laptop on permanently without any problems? I have this one and I'm a little worried because I have 80% of the power:
I don't expect much from Acer. The previous model definitely didn't have that.
Doesn't help me now 😅
Mine has been on the charging power supply for 5 years. The battery performance has only decreased slightly. The whole thing has something to do with the charging electronics of the laptop. There are devices where the manufacturer installs a good charge controller and devices with 0 8 15 control.
