I want / need to buy a new notebook. I would definitely buy it so that it gets along well with a double boot (Windows and Linux), the question is how much SSD memory is necessary. I also want to learn to program (Phyton and later Java) but I think that works well on all computers.

With 8 GiB RAM you are probably well served.
When it comes to disk space but it always depends on how many programs to be installed. But the hunger of Windows alone is ever so great that this already needs at least 30GiB. Ergo makes a hard drive from 240GiB upwards makes sense.

My son makes movies in 4k, separates them and works as a radio DJ (flash-radio.de) with a Greenscren and with three monitors - He constantly complains that his 16 GiB not enough.
So everyone has their needs.
