Keyboard recording with cakewalk?

I have the following problem: I connected my keyboard to my laptop via USB port and then recorded with Cakewalk. I'm also pretty sure that everything is connected correctly, but if I try to record something now it doesn't work somehow no sounds are displayed.

Does anyone have a tip?
