Set up a monitor without a PC?

Hi! I'm planning to buy a monitor to play with my PS4 / Switch. Now I wonder if I can set up the monitor without a PC, as the installation of a CD is included.

Have unfortunately only a laptop there, or would it go with that too?

Monitors are plug and play, because there's nothing to set up.
