Microphone Sl600?

I'm thinking of buying this microphone to record songs. However, I don't quite understand how it works. Is it so that you only hear your voice when you have connected it to your laptop or that you can only listen to it then or can you hear it while singing. I don't know how to explain it right now, but maybe someone will understand
