Why does not my mouse automatically continue after the touchpad corner has been reached?

I have a problem with my Ubuntu operating system. I use this on my laptop and have noticed that when dragging and dropping, unlike on Windows, I automatically move the mouse further in a certain direction after reaching the limit of the touchpad area.

Does anyone know this problem? Does anyone know a solution for this?

I have a problem with my Ubuntu operating system.

I'm glad that I do not use Ubuntu or one of the 89 Forks, because that would give me a problem as well.

Do I understand that correctly, that your mouse arrow moves on Windows when reaching the touchpad end? - How is this suppossed to work!

If you take your finger off the touchpad, logically and correctly, the movement stops and when you start again, it continues. Where it goes also depends on where you start again.

Yes, in Windows, if I have z.b. If you want to drag a file from the top right corner of my screen to the far left, it's logical that my touchpad will not do it all at once, so if the touchpad stops and you're standing with your finger on the border, then you're moving The cursor continues in the desired direction. In Ubuntu I can't do that, which is why I'm here too.

I find the workings like GNU / Linux logical and Windows just confusing. Since one wonders why Windows wants to know / where the user wants to go with the mouse.

I've never really wondered how the under hood works, at least it has something to do with the touchpad area, at which border of the touchpad is the finger. So you do not know how to set this?

Al

Look at the program xinput, maybe you can configure something that would correspond to what you want.

man xinput

The package xinput or Xorg-xinput may need to be installed first!
