In short, be glad that it is so. Windows XP has lost nothing on the Internet.

Unless you want to set up a honeypot as an anti-malware expert.
But thethering is not well suited for that.

You should not use Windows XP anymore because there's no support anymore. In addition, current web browsers are no longer running underneath.

Here is a tip from me: The laptop can be transformed into a Chromebook with the free operating system Cloudready. Cloudready is a customized Chrome OS that uses the open-source Chromium browser instead of the Google Chrome browser. That's why it is also available as a 32bit version.

Here is the download of the 32bit version: https://davrt8itj6cgg.cloudfront.net/cloudready-free-76.4.70-32-bit/cloudready-free-76.4.70-32-bit.zip

Then unpack the ZIP. You will receive an IMG or BIN file. Then flash it with this tool https://www.balena.io/...io/etcher/ on a blank formatted stick.

Then boot the stick in the laptop. The installer automatically detects the WLAN and then asks for the WLAN key. The hard disk is automatically deleted and reformatted. After completing the installation and the first start, simply log in with your Google Account. Your Chromebook will be ready. Since now only the browser is running little system resources are needed.

So you can continue to use an old laptop meaningful without having to spend money.
