I have 3 screens and each screen is connected to my private PC and my company laptop with an HDMI switcher. The strange thing is, when I switch all the screens on the company laptop, I hear the fan speed of my private PC increasing. If I then switch to my private PC with a screen and see how warm my GPU is, then the GPU is about + 40 ° C with the delay of the screen change. Although the GPU otherwise chills to 35 ° C.
What can be the reason? Because the GPU should actually chill more because it doesn't have to output a picture.
The card shouldn't care what your switch is to. It works the same way, whether you turn off the monitor or not really doesn't matter.
But why does the graphics card get warmer as soon as I switch off the last screen?
I can't explain myself. The fans may switch off if the temperature and load allow it.
Then only the GPU fans are allowed to switch off, because as soon as I switch off the last screen my fan speed of the case fans go higher.
I don't mean the case fans, modern graphics cards often turn their own fans off completely when possible.
I mean the GPU fan anyway, but I checked, when I turn off the last screen, the GPU fan doesn't turn off. Just hear the case fan speed increasing. I don't know whether the GPU's will also be higher
