Best laptops for students?

My girlfriend will soon have a birthday and will also start studying at the same time, so I wanted to buy her a laptop as a gift, but I don't know which one is most suitable for studying. Hope you can help me there (best laptops under 500 euro, better up to 300-400 euro)

LENOVO THINKPAD is very stable and can be used for years. Processor is first Intel core i3 - ** or i5 ** there's a small difference. But RAM should not be less than 6 Gbytes. Hard disk as SSD (minimal access times) is much quick and recommendable. But more expensive than hard disk drives, which have larger capacities. But if online applications are mostly needed during the course of study, no requirement for higher disk capacities can be useful.
