Bitlocker, hard drive encrypted from the beginning?

I built a notebook on which the Windows 10 was pre-crystallized.

I noticed that the hard drive with Bitlocker is encrypted, but I have no pin or the like.

Can you remove this encoding like without formatting?

If not, does it have big speed differences?

Without a password no chance. At a certain point BitLocker will close at default settings then (if this is not set, theoretically a Bruteforce would be, but why then put BitLocker? (Incidentally, then would still take too many years)).

BitLocker is finally there for that.

A data florist could then provide maximum relief.

What differences do you imagine? No, the plate will not slow down when formatting.

Ha

I mean the difference between an encrypted disk and an unencrypted disk.

Ro

There's no difference. BitLocker does not become active until the disk has been moved to another device.

If you format it, the BitLocker is gone and the disk just as fast as without it.

Ha

If that is so I do not need to do anything and thanks for the quick response.

Ro

Must correct me; there's a hit on the disk speed. But the disk is slower with BitLocker than without.

Ha

The question is, do you notice the difference?

Ro

If you format the disk, can it only get better?

Generally it varies depending on the plate. Either you have no losses with BitLocker or which up to 30%.

That would only show you around with installations and data. Possibly. Download games a little bit slower.

Ok thanks for the many answers.
