The LAN cable on my laptop is no longer recognized. But only in my room. If I connect it directly to the router via LAN, it will go smoothly. Operating system is Win 10.
Router is a Fritz box.
Sounds like the cable is broken. Have you checked whether the cable that leads to your room is also properly connected to the router? Because that could also be a reason.
With what in your room?
Only that it still works.
Do other devices go over the network cable?
You probably have a repeater right? If so, see if it is connected to the internet!
No the cable goes from the router to the basement to a distributor and from there to my room
Can't tear open the wall 🤣
The cable goes from the router into the basement into a distributor and from there into my room 😬
Cable from the router to the basement. Pull out both plugs and plug them in again.
2. The same with cable from the basement to your room
Sometimes the plug contacts oxidize and after unplugging it works again. If that doesn't help:
3. With a laptop in the basement, first connect to the cable of the router when it is running after the "distributor".
So you see where the problem is.
Thanks, it was down to the cable in the basement.
