Yesterday I bought two games for my 3DS but the two games are too big for my 3DS so I thought I had to delete everything that was on my 3DS. I did that and it still was not enough. So I researched and found out that I could expand the storage space of my 3DS. At first, I did not format the memory card, which unfortunately did not work, because my 3DS does not recognize the memory card and can't access it. Now I have formatted the memory card but a file simply can't be transferred. At first I thought that my laptop is just crazy and everything is fine, but it is not. Now I'm wondering if I need to set anything, so this file can be transferred. This file is the system volume information
Do I have to stop working or have I done anything wrong?
I really need help, because I do not know how long the Eshop codes are still valid
Here is a screenshot of both folders, the file that is marked is the file that can't be transferred. Windows always claims this folder would exist on the memory card but does not. I'm not familiar with such things and therefore did not expect anything like that
You should not transfer that.
The System Volume Information folder is a system folder that System Restore uses to store information and restore points. Each partition on your computer has a System Volume Information folder
And why does not my 3DS recognize this memory card?
It is pointless to transfer this folder because it contains the system recovery information for the partition it is on. You can disable System Restore for this drive and then delete the folder.
Thanks but have my SD card already formatted on FAT32. Now everything works fine
Oh well, I thought you read beforehand what kind of format you should use. If you did that in NTFS, I'm not surprised. Well today's generation just did not really "read before".
