I have always had the experience that Android phones start to hang after a few years while Apple does not. I've already noticed it with laptops with Windows and actually I still have to buy a Windows laptop because you get more with less money. Now I have the question, what can I do so that it doesn't start to hang because it has to last for several years.
Remove junk files (PC) and restart every now and then.
You wouldn't believe what garbage is saved in various folders just by simply surfing the web. After 1-2 years this may be Even GB dimensions, WhatsApp also wastes endless storage space
"trash" has no connection with it, otherwise my PC would have to drive backwards with over 12TB of data
How much have you paid for your cell phones and laptops so far? That makes a big difference.
And: I think Windows users also install more on their devices. At least that's my personal feeling. Of course, it gets slower when you walk a lot more on it.
In general, your claim is correct as not I would claim. With comparable devices, after a while, the Windows / Android device is sometimes slower, sometimes the Apple product.
All saved temp files are garbage data on every PC, as well as e.g. The saved files in the sent folders of WhatsApp.
From here I can't judge what YOUR computer looks like
Trashed and that pretty much has 27.3GB of temp. Files on my main computer that has Windows on an SSD and you know what. It makes no difference from day 1
because an SSD is simply not the same as an HDD what you say would apply if you had windows on an HDD
If it hangs at some point, you will have to restart Windows.
Otherwise, this is generally due to the fact that both Windows and Android have to serve umpteen hardware configurations.
If there were only a handful of devices for which it is tailored, Windows and Android would run just as smoothly as MacOS and iOS.
With Windows and Android, one of the problems is the ever increasing amount of junk and useless program scope, which you inevitably bring onto the system with regular updates. Applications themselves also become more and more extensive over time, with no option to optionally prevent this.
You just have to control yourself which software you get specifically for which purposes and how you configure the operating system and keep it lean and clean over the long term. Microsoft has long been known for becoming more and more confusing and sluggish in its operating system if you let Windows run for years as Microsoft thinks it is.
It would be utopian to believe that Microsoft would (finally) program an operating system that keeps itself "fit" instead of integrating and loading more and more services over time, which most users do not need for their work at all. From a number of updates with unfavorable properties (faulty, resource-hungry, forcing instability) not to mention the premature and immature release with "forced import" as with Windows 10 ex works.
It looks similar with Android and partly shows how much you can screw up a Linux base with open source principle more and more.
Of course I don't want to declare every update as useless, where there are security gaps with Internet access, but if you e.g. A computer that is not connected to the Internet or a tablet / phone (only fictitious) does not update very much according to the principle "never touch a running system", so it will run just as smoothly with the same hardware as on the first day. You just have to keep it nice and clean and wait, or clean up installation residues.
Just a few examples from personal experience:
- My Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini ran smoothly with Android for 5 years, even if the system later constantly tried to force Android 6 on me. I gave it to my mother, who had a friend update it to Android 6 or (rooted) to 7, and it ran noticeably slower.
- A Galaxy S4 with Android 6 instead of 4 only ran like an earthworm in the obstacle course.
- One of my first notebooks ran quite well with a Pentium III M - 800 under Windows XP, on a Celeron M 370 with SSD like an oiled lightning bolt, and with Windows 7 (the latter was designed for this) like a sack of nuts.
- Windows Vista ran on another Book with Pentium T3200 (mobile dual core) including AV suite in the best case only mediocre.
- A friend's partner had bought a cheap notebook with Intel Atom x5 and Windows 10, and it ran like chewing gum ex works. With a "slim" OS like Windows XP it would probably have run smoothly and agile, because other, older netbooks with Intel Atom N 570 - dual core + SMT under XP have already managed to do this simply by exchanging the HDD installed in them for an SSD.
The main problem was and is therefore mostly in the useless scavenging of newer operating systems and newer versions of applications, because over the years the end devices have been given ever more powerful hardware, even in the budget area. You can deal with it wastefully instead of continuously developing and programming in essential software such as an operating system, browser or office tool to meet lean resource requirements.
Even Internet pages are becoming more and more complex in terms of data consumption due to increasingly complex programming, hyperlinks, cross-references and colorful advertising images. I notice that myself on this platform here (and a comparable page) with my alternative 128 kbit / s internet access in the loading time development of the last approx. 12 years.
The other forum was founded in the mid-1990s and used to be usable with a 33.6 to 56 kbit / s analog modem. Today, instead of a sip from a cup of coffee, you would probably need a whole pot of coffee to build the page.
Does the FS have an HDD?
Actually I still plan to buy a Windows laptop because you get more with less money.
Yes? What?
I have always had the experience that Android phones start to hang after a few years while Apple does not. I've also noticed it on laptops with Windows
Do you mean that?
Of course, it gets slower when you walk a lot more on it.
How come?
That seems to be the case because it is said that Windows is in itself and that only applies if you either have an HDD or a completely outdated CPU / too little ram
But if you look at the currently cheap / cheapest laptops you can see that CPUs / RAM are not the problem that Apple proved by a year ago they boldly for over 1000 euro n Dual core i5 with igpu 8GB ddr3 ram not even particularly was fast and sold an overpriced 256GB SSD ^^
If the FS has an HDD - which I assumed - my tip about the trash was correct.
But this is not a good long-term solution and is still lame I was stuck on HDDs for a while and from experience SSDs hardly cost anything these days, which would be a better tip ^^
I rush the CCleaner over my system HDD every week and haven't had any performance problems for years
Funny that this only works for you and apparently works miracles.
Not only works for me. If it doesn't work for you, you are probably doing something wrong 😂
😂😂😂 yes yes 😵😵
Jap very good answer as well as the software
With that you have certainly helped the FS a lot. Company thanks
Not with that, but I have protected against greater damage
Well what do you think happens if 10 more programs are running in the background?
Apple does that all the time with the junk apps. And worse than Android. You can't even delete them with an app, Apple knows what's good for you. My mother first complained that after an OS update she had another pointless app that she didn't want / need.
But I agree with you about the websites. In addition, however, many apps are simply badly written. Cheap development is better than good development.
A web-based app as a "cross platform" is of course also practical, but comparatively lame. That depends on speed and battery.
All in all, nothing so far that I haven't already explained.
I'm not "partial", especially since I've never had an "Apple".
Even with Windows 9x or 2K you had to look after yourself from time to time to ensure that the whole thing remained clean and free of conflicts.
Was like an old car. Run and run and run if you take care of it yourself with the necessary basic knowledge.
With Win 10 you have to be tricky and read yourself much more often and take a long time to be able to maintain Microsoft's forced updates and cleanliness.
Apple is still trying to go the other way of minimalism if existing hardware is to function sufficiently for their target groups for as long as possible with the software presented.
Apple still cooks with a base from Intel and possibly AMD performance graphics in the x86 Compatible segment.
But Apple is now also active in the development of branded standards. (So more like "Back to the Roots" with a specific brand loyalty)
Functional competition does not always have to be bad if we compare the developments in performance and efficiency for PCs to smartphones and tablets.
Apple still wants to tie in somewhere on the basis developed by Steve Jobs, to be able to get everything from a single source, even if Apple temporarily suspended its own hardware developments. (Notebooks)
Maybe Apple can fight its way back to the point where it can actually stand up to HUAWAI and other AMM platforms from cell phones to tablets to office books on an equal footing with the decision to have or want to offer real hardcore gaming platforms.
So what? I'm running 11. So?
That pulls performance. Not much, but something. And that adds up.
Now have a look under the services.
