Windows 10 audio is not working?

My laptop is funny again.
The sound does not work, but it does. When testing the sound under Control Panel comes the sound and from MS's own applications also (Groove Music). But when I go to my browser and watch a video, there's no sound anymore. If I then open the Audacity software and connect my headphones, the thing turns completely through and it constantly changes between mute and loud.

Go to the manufacturer page of your laptop. There download and install the latest drivers. In most cases, everything will run again.

Set your speaker configuration to stereo.

Otherwise, the browser's mono signals are output to the non-existent center speaker.

Works 99%. (No idea, but there seem to be programs that want to produce a 5.1 edition from a stereo device. Such PCs keep coming to my "workbench". 5 minutes of easy money.)

Your "groove" sends stereo so everything seems ok.

Unfortunately it didn't work

They were already set to stereo, but still did it again. Has not brought anything.

As I said, the Windows own apps work. "Only" with other software it doesn't work. Of course it was like that from day to day, classic. So I'm at a loss. Sometimes it works with headphones, but then the sound is extremely distorted (the headphones work perfectly on the phone)

One more thing you can try: Start the command prompt as administrator and enter the following command:

sfc / scannow

This fixes the Windows system files. When that is done simply restart.

"Windows resource protection has not found any integrity violations."

I also play around on the volume mixer. As a result, what comes out of the browser is always ticked off. Silent, then loud again and so on.
