Can anyone talk to Fortnite despite the headset?

I've been playing Fortnite on the laptop (Windows 10) for a long time, and never talked to others. I've got a headset for Christmas, but I still can't talk to anyone. So, better, I can hear everyone, but nobody can hear me. The voice chat is on and I just do not know where the problem is. Answers would be great.

Look, if Windows ever a headset / micro is detected. If so, go to the audio settings and see if your headset is selected.
