I already have a laptop with Ubuntu on it. Now I would like to add the KDE Plasma. There's also a download link on their website. Can I now simply install Plasma without having to erase and restart my computer?

Na

Yes, simply install the "Kubuntu Desktop" package.

Na

KDE Plasma is ready in the Kubuntu sources!

Instructions for installation can be found here:

That helps me, thank you

Ta

So, I'll take a look, thank you very much

sy

Yes, but then I would uninstall the old desktop environment

to

No, that is not correct. Simple

sudo apt install kubuntu-desktop

Type in the terminal and KDE will also be installed. GNOME usually stays installed.

sy

What is wrong?

to

Oh, I read "That would then but the old… Uninstall". Sorry I should have really woken up first 😨

sy

Fits. It's just stupid if you then e.g. Has 2 file managers

I know from my own painful experience. But sometimes it's quite nice xD
