Forgot password toshiba?

I can't get in my laptop (toshiba satellite) because I do not remember the password. Shift and f8, as well as f12, esc bring nothing. Someone another idea? Want to enter safe mode and password then reset. I've already done that, only the key combination does not know anymore.

Which version of Windows do you have?

ga

Only with f8 while the screen is black, before the windows logo comes on boot - just keep pressed after starting, this works best at best. F8!

I could also write about it. Sorry. Windows 8

Can you boot from Windows 8 installation media?

It does not work.

Do you have a free PC somewhere?

Is your account linked to a Microsoft account or do you have a local account? If the former applies, then you also come to a new account only via Microsoft and can't remove this with any aids: https://account.live.com/...word/reset

If you were using a local account, I would use the Offline NT Password & Registry Editor: http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/

The ISO file you burn yourself on a DVD or alternatively create a bootable USB stick. As of Windows 7, there's an option directly under Windows to burn an ISO file to a data medium. Right-click on the ISO file and select Burn Disk Image.

If you decide for the variant with the USB stick, then download the free program Rufus: https://rufus.akeo.ie/?locale=de_DE

Open the program and right click on the selection button. Now select the ISO file. At the settings you should not have to change anything. You can start the process directly.

You will then boot from the created disk and once the Password & Registry Editor has been started, at the beginning you will select the partition on which Windows is installed and then press Enter again to confirm the registry path.

Now select the first option => Password reset with space as delimeter and then again the first option => Edit user data and passwords.

Enter your username and confirm with Enter. Now select again the first option => Clear (blank) user password.

Now you give! One to confirm everything. Finally Q to finish the tool.

After that, the password should have been removed.

If none of the mentioned ways work, I would simply back up all important files and then reinstall Windows. To save the files, I recommend you Hiren's BootCD.

It is an ISO file, which you can download for free here: https://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/

How you can burn an ISO file to a DVD or create a bootable USB stick, I have already explained above.

Boats then from the created disk. It will then run a live version of Windows 10, which will allow you to access and back up your files. There are also some other helpful tools included, as you can see from the top page linked.
