Why doesn't my laptop play anymore?

Lately my laptop has stopped playing. Spotify and Netflix no longer work at all (no reaction when you press play) and websites like Prime Video or Youtube do not load for ages, and if they do, there's no sound (not even through headphones). All updates have been carried out and there's a stable internet connection. A restart doesn't help either.

Is JavaScript or JAVAScript activated in the browser or is the execution of Java applets or ActiveX applications permitted? If not, it is no wonder when nothing is running…

Where can I see it?

Then why don't my apps like Spotify and Netflix stop doing that? They have nothing to do with the browser…
