I would take a look around eBay for your used Dell Precision range of equipment. Often have a Core i7, 16 GB of RAM, a SSD 256GB + and most of all a Nvidia Quattro graphics card installed, which offers significant advantages in your mentioned application. Incidentally, the CPUs of the 4000 series are not much slower than the current ones.
The parts that can be found on eBay between 350 and 600 euro, have recently cost 2000 euro or more and are quite robust.
