Got a Lenovo G50 70 the laptop starts up fan you can hear. But it only shows black screen. The problem is now.
this laptop has no HDD, so no operating system or driver installed. Can I still get the picture via VGA connection to an external screen or do I absolutely need the driver?
to the screen itself I once shone with light on it something is going on, it turns so light green (only visible with light) but you don't recognize anything or anything. Since it can't boot, it always restarts.
does anyone know the problem can someone help me further?
thank you in advance and I wish you a happy new year. LG
You don't need an HDD.
Yes you can connect an external monitor. You should then see the POST and come to us BIOS.
I find it a bit strange, since normally at least a message should come from the BIOS that no bootable medium was found. Not even coming is actually unusual. You don't normally need a driver for that either. Maybe you try to open the BIOS as soon as you turn on the laptop. In most cases, the Del key is used. If something happens, please contact me again.
If no operating system is installed, so you only want to start the BIOS / (U) EFI, you do not need any drivers, so you can connect an external monitor to the VGA connector. However, if the problem is with the graphics chip, the external screen will also be of no use to you.
If the graphics chip or the screen or the cable to it is damaged, there's also no display from the BIOS / (U) EFI.
A defective screen was not written on. Sure, it can be one, but nobody assumes it for now. Especially since a screen can hardly break.
He / she should try this with an external screen. If nothing happens then it is not on the screen.
The graphics chip is mounted or soldered in the mainboard or
Either that, or it's built into the processor.

No? What then?
If the screen remains dark after switching on the PC, this can certainly have several causes:
1 .: Defective screen
2 .: Connection cable not (correctly) inserted or defective
3 .: Graphics card / chip defective
4 .: Expansion card or memory stick is not properly seated in the slot
5 .: CPU defective
6 .: Block on the mainboard defective (e.g. Capacitor burned out).
And who told you that a screen couldn't break? Happens more often with laptops.
