I have a Lenovo Legion Y520 laptop with an Nvidia GeForce 1050TI and an Intel Core i5-7300 HQ 4 cores. When I start GTA5 Online, the game sometimes runs extremely smoothly and I have no complaints at the next launch, the image is extremely staggered in seconds. The GPU is not busy at all but the CPU utilization is 100%. There's no download and nothing in the background. The funny thing is that GTAV.exe is set to priority lower than normal, but this does not change anything.

If the graphics card is underutilized, the iGPU will be used. Accordingly, assign the Nvidia high-performance processor to the game.
And always plug in charging cables with a laptop, of course.

Hmm, weird. Graphics driver currently? Laptop not in energy-saving mode? Otherwise reinstall the game.
