A few days ago I bought a Lenovo laptop SSD. When I load Excel data from my "old" laptop onto my "new" laptop, the type designation changes from "Microsoft Excel worksheet" to "Adobe Acrobat Document" automatically. I can't process these files with the Excel app.
When I attach my external backup disk to my "old" laptop, the correct Excel type is displayed. If I attach the same backup disk to my "new one", "Adobe…" is displayed.
How can that be? Who could please help me?
Right click on a file → Open with → Select Excel and click on "Remember decision".
You can right-click the file on the new computer in Explorer and select Open with… If you use Excel or another spreadsheet on your new calculator, for example. Calc from LibreOffice, you can use it to edit your Excel files.
Find one of the Excel files> right click> Open with> check the box "Always open files of this type with this program" and select Excel.
