I have excel 32 bit on one laptop and excel 2016 with 64 bit on the other.
I moved a document from the 32 bit laptop to the 64 bit laptop using a USB stick.
now the excel file is shown to me as 32 bit, how do I get this file to be considered a 64 bit file?
By installing the program on a laptop as 64-bit
I have it as 64 bit. But since the file is from another laptop it is opened as a 32 bit version.
Yes, I understood that and you said it was 32 bit on the other device. Since you should install it in 64bit. If that doesn't work then converting the file will probably not work either. What is the difference between a file made with the 32 bit and thus a 64 bit file?

.
And?
You can open the file, edit it and do the same with this file on a 64bit computer.
Where is the problem?
Excel understands its files on both 32 and 64 bit computers.
… Or how do you recognize differences?
