Laptop battery discharges very quickly?

I have had a Lenovo IdeaPad for a few months and now in homeschooling the battery drains within 4-5 hours, while I usually only have a pdf file and Spotify open.

Surely that can't be true?

Is there any setting in which I have to change something or another solution

A Ryzen 5 4500U is installed

You can adjust the energy saving settings in Windows, reducing the volume and brightness also brings a lot.

What is the manufacturer specifying the laptop with? (Battery life)

There's a "blatant" misjudgment. 😉
The Spotify sound alone draws power for the WLAN network from the battery. Sparks cost electricity.
If then the screen (main consumer) is constantly on…

Of course, the general battery capacity and the age of the battery (read: wear and tear) also play a role that should not be underestimated. Both are unknown to us and can therefore not be assessed.

4-5 hours are - although newer devices can sometimes manage twice as much or more - but now not particularly unusual for a device that runs constantly.

Work on the power cord, I have to do that until I get a pc

That is a value that sounds a bit excessive. But I'm also slowly starting to think that you absolutely have to look at the energy saving plan. 5 - 6h is very little with only documents and pdf. As a comparison value, you should watch continuous YouTube for 8 hours.

If I came across someone with "Mimimi - but my device is not that old" every time, then I would be a millionaire.
In short: Doesn't matter and doesn't change the answer at all.
It's just an indication that my answer has bounced off my brain and doesn't want to go in. But you can't do anything with that. 🤷♂️

You wrote that you need this data to determine that, here they are
