The battery of my laptop sometimes discharges for a few hours (usually overnight) when the laptop is off and not plugged into the power adapter.
What could be the reason for this? The battery itself can't really lie, I just ordered it a few days ago and installed it after I had the same problem with the previous battery.
I spontaneously think of the following possibilities:
The battery will not charge or will be charged incompletely. (Check remaining battery capacity before turning off).
The computer will not shut down completely (defect in the shutdown process). For example, Check a USB port when it is turned off - is it still live?
The charger "pulls" through a defect (diode on passage) a "reverse current" (power supply after switching off for testing from the computer)

Whether it is on the battery or on the laptop, you can easily check. Charge the battery until it is full. Remove the battery from the laptop and leave it overnight.
