When I wanted to upgrade the RAM from 4GB to 8GB from my Lenovo Ideapad 100-15IBY (80MJ), I ordered an 8GB RAM module on the Internet, where my exact model of the laptop is described in the description. Now I have received the module and built it into the single channel. Unfortunately, he didn't go on, but the power LED was on. I first thought the battery was empty, so I fully charged it and hoped it would work, but it didn't. So I removed the new 8GB module and reinstalled the old 4GB module and it went back to normal and started the operating system. I don't understand why it doesn't work. I read that this model can handle 8GB of RAM. My guess is that the module is broken. What do you think what's going on now Is it broken? Wrong module? If it's the wrong module, can anyone recommend the right one?
If you have two slots, buy a second 4 GB RAM module.
Thanks for the answer.
Unfortunately there's only one slot for memory.
Does the 8GB module have the DDR3L 1333 memory type
My 8GB RAM module has 1600MHz. With the 4GB RAM module I found both on the Internet, i.e. 1333MHz and 1600MHz, which is why I don't know exactly how much MHz my old 4GB module has.
4GB module: 4GB 1Rx8 PC3L-12800S-11-13-B4
8GB module: 8GB 2Rx8 PC3L-12800S-11-12-F3 (1.35V)
With the 4GB module, I don't know exactly how many volts it has.
Then the 8 GB module is unfortunately not compatible with the processor.
I did not know that. Could you recommend a working memory that is compatible? Incidentally, the processor is an Intel Pentium CPU N3540 2.16GHz.
