BIOS update is not working, why?

Moin, I have already read some topics regarding the BIOS update… And unfortunately found that my problem is apparently new.

Lenovo IdeaPad 100

Motherboard No: AIVP1 / AIVP2 La-C771P REV: 1.0

4 GB of RAM

250 GB SSD

Windoof 7

Now to my problem:

I have the problem that I can't update my bios because the hard drive is empty. Say no drivers on the plate and thus falls USB ever out? Furthermore, the laptop does not have a CD / DVD drive - thus falls CD / DVD out now synonymous. My question to you, how the hell should I update my BIOS? - because I also have the problem, if I use the SSD or any arbitrary hard drive and play on another computer there an OS on it, and then reinstall it in the Lenovo. Does he hang up on the loading screen of Windows. I tried with 7/8/10 all still common OS, but did not work out.

PS: hanging up with the loading screen was my problem before, but now it is the BIOS update.

For a BIOS update, a FreeDOS live system including BIOS img and installer should suffice.
Of course, it also depends on how the manufacturer makes the updates available.

pr

Does that mean as much?

ca

Check with the manufacturer for how to upgrade a BIOS upgrade for your model or what options you can get.

pr

I have done this several times already. Still does not help me much because I can't use an OS. There's only something of a win installation and that's it

ca

If Windows is really a prerequisite, then you have no choice but to first install Windows.
Even without the OS installed, this must work via USB, but it may be that you need to enable USB boot in the BIOS first. The necessary drivers are included on the Windows installation disk, so that's not the problem.
On every brand new PC, this is possible without drivers being present on the hard disk.

pr

But that is a problem. As it freezes on the Win-Ladescreen and I have to restart it. I can't use Windows / Linux because I can't install or run either.

ca

Try changing the SATA operation mode from AHCI to IDE-Legacy in the BIOS

My

Why do you have to update your bios? Is your cpu or board not recognized?

My

No dvd drive with the notebook is nothing special these days. There are really great dvd drives that are connected via usb and work immediately.

Then you can install Windows without problems.

Somewhere install Windows and then install the notebook, will not work.

pr

Since, I assume that something with the BIOS is? - otherwise the hard drives would work? So far not only one tested.

pr

"No dvd drive with the laptop is nothing special these days, there are really great dvd drives that are connected via usb and work immediately." - I had already tried with 2 different usb drives.

My

Bios only cares about making the interface to the hard drive. So if the disk is detected, then the bios is all right.

If a fault occurs during operation, there will be a hardware error.
