Better performance on an external monitor?

I currently own a gaming laptop (Lenovo Legion y720-15ikb). When I connect this to an external monitor via HDMI, I get about 25% better performance. I read somewhere that this is because of Nvidia Optimus and my Gtx 1060 has to transfer everything to the integrated graphics card before the picture appears on my laptop screen and is therefore slower. With an external monitor, the image would be transferred directly from the graphics card to the monitor. Is that correct?

I also thought about buying a 144hz monitor. I know that HDMI can transmit a maximum of 60fps and you have to connect the laptop with a 144hz monitor Displayport. Does the fact that the Displayport connection manages to get the image directly from the GTX card change it? In other words, can I still get the performance boost with a 144hz monitor?

HDMI can be more than 60Hz my friend. It depends on the one version (probably 2.0 then you can also FHD in 144Hz).

Performance remains the same.

No, maximum 4K 120hz or 8k 60hz, more does not manufacture the HDMI specification.

What's the maximum for 1080p?

pr

What is wrong now? With FHD clearly 144Hz. He does not want more. Kek.

pr

Usefully 144Hz ^^. 240Hz are not directly 240 but actually only 120, so 144Hz.

Nope HDMI provides maximum 120hz 144hz are NOT possible.

Oh my bad. Habs confused.
